I have decided to write a brief summary v. analysis

PLEASE ENJOY THE PERFORMANCE
A SUMMARY states the facts; AN ANALYSIS interprets the experience.
Summary: In this ballet entitled Hand to Hand a one legged dancer performs with a one armed ballerina. He supporting her and she him in a technically accurate and very well choreographed performance. A summary could go on to state many other facts about the subject but that is all you would get, just the facts.
Analysis: In their performance, Hand in Hand, the artists demonstrate an indomitable spirit. Their artistry showing that the desire of the soul can and will prevail, regardless of the pain that must be endured, in finding a vehicle for expression and connection. An Analysis would continue by describing areas of the performance that express desire, pain, connection and more.
I like how you compared summary and analysis with the performance of the dancers. It is creative yet accurate.
ReplyDeleteI really love the way you went about showing the difference between summary and analysis by using the ballet. You got the point across but still managed to keep it brief and entertaining. I'm curious what inspired you to go that route, are you interested in dance?
